Documentation

Welcome to the documentation for the Prounveil WordPress Theme. This guide will help you install, configure, and customize your theme, and — if you own it — the Prounveil Pro add-on plugin.

Installation

Prounveil is a free theme, available directly from WordPress.org. Requires WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 7.4+.

  1. Go to your WordPress Admin → Appearance → Themes → Add New.
  2. Search for Prounveil, then click Install and Activate.
  3. Alternatively, download the ZIP from WordPress.org and upload it via Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.

Prounveil Pro Add-on

The Photo Gallery, Portfolio, and Video Gallery features are part of the separate Prounveil Pro plugin, sold on our personal site. The free theme works fully on its own — Pro simply unlocks these additional features.

  1. Purchase Prounveil Pro from prounveil.com.
  2. Log in to your account: My Account and download Prounveil Pro from the Downloads section.
  3. Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the ZIP, then click Install and Activate.
  4. Prounveil Pro requires the free Prounveil theme to be active — it will not run with any other theme.

Recommended Plugins

After activating the theme, you'll be prompted to install these optional plugins:

The Photo Gallery, Portfolio, and Video Gallery plugins are no longer installed this way — they're bundled together in the Prounveil Pro add-on above.

Demo Installation

Quickly set up your site like the demo:

  1. Go to Appearance → Import Demo Data.
  2. Choose a demo. Professional is included with the free theme. Influencer, Model, and Musician are unlocked once the Prounveil Pro plugin is active.
  3. Click Import Demo Data and wait for completion.

Create a menu with custom links for AJAX navigation:

The Portfolio, Gallery, and Videos links only need to go live once the Prounveil Pro plugin is active and populated with content.

Customizer Settings

Use Appearance → Customize to configure:

Requires the Prounveil Pro plugin. Create categories (no child categories), upload images, and assign them. Categories appear as filters in the frontend gallery. Once you've added images, select the gallery post under Appearance → Customize → Gallery.

Note: only one Gallery post is allowed per category. If you try to save a second post using a category that's already in use, it will be reverted to Draft with a notice — assign it a different category instead.

Requires the Prounveil Pro plugin. Add videos one by one with URL, thumbnail, and category. Categories appear as filters in the frontend video gallery. Once you've added videos, select the video gallery post under Appearance → Customize → Video Gallery.

Portfolio (Prounveil Pro)

Requires the Prounveil Pro plugin. Create categories, then add portfolios with title, description, featured image, and gallery images. Categories are used as filters on the frontend.

Blog

Create categories, then add posts with title, content, featured image, and categories.

License Activation

Only the Prounveil Pro plugin requires a license key (for automatic updates). The free Prounveil theme itself does not need to be licensed or activated.

  1. Log in to your account at prounveil.com and visit your license keys page to copy your license key.
  2. In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Prounveil Pro → License.
  3. Enter your License Key along with the Order Email.
  4. Finally, click Activate License to complete the process.

Once activated, Prounveil Pro updates automatically — new versions will appear under Dashboard → Updates like any other plugin. If you don't see an expected update right away, use the Clear Cache & Check for Updates button on the Prounveil Pro → License page.
